As the Director of Cultural & Disabilities Services and the co-director of the Culturally Specific and Youth Services (CSYS) Team, I oversee the culturally specific and disabilities services, including training and technical assistance with special attention to coordinating outreach and engagement for historically marginalized and underserved populations (i.e., African, Black, Caribbean (ABC) and Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing population). I also co-lead language access and provide support to teen programming.

One of the populations that is under culturally-specific services is the African, Black, Caribbean (ABC) population. For this community, I address the barriers that prevent ABC survivors from seeking formal services. I work with community members to raise awareness about intimate partner violence, specifically in the ABC community.

I have my Master of Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill. I have worked in the intimate partner violence field for 13 years. I started in this field at UNC Chapel Hill in undergrad focusing on violence prevention and relationship education.  When I am not at work, you can find me watching television and eating good food. When I need to move my body, I dance and hike.
