Join Albemarle Hopeline in honoring survivors during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Elizabeth City Mayor Kirk Rivers will sign a proclamation declaring the month of October Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Pasquotank Sheriff Tommy Wooten will share remarks about the impacts of domestic violence on our community. The event culminates in a flower ceremony where attendees will release blooms into the river as a symbol of hope for victims and survivors. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple, the official color of Domestic Violence Awareness.
